A Long History of Service and Innovation
Established in 1993, Nuna is a Federally Registered, majority Inuit-owned heavy civil mining, construction and remediation company. We qualify as a “Northern Company” under the Inuit Impact and Benefits Agreements and provide a range of services to Canada’s heavy civil and mining industries, including:
- Heavy civil infrastructure construction and earthworks services
- Pre-development and development of open pits
- All-weather road and winter road construction and maintenance
- Construction and mine site reclamation and remediation
- Site service and logistical support
- Oil and gas exploration and infrastructure support
- Innovative bulk sampling technologies
As an Indigenous company, we endeavour to develop sustainable Indigenous partnerships regardless of where we work. Our clients—which range from small junior mining exploration companies and government projects to large multinational corporations—count on us to provide on-time, on budget and socially responsible construction services. We deliver.
With our management strength and supporting systems, Nuna Group of Companies can plan and execute concurrent projects in excess of $250M per project. Our workforce can extend to more than 900 people in remote locations throughout Canada’s Northern Territories, Ontario, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Despite our size, we work hard to implement each project as if it was our only project.

Nuna Group of Companies refers to the many successful joint ventures, partnerships and corporate entities we’ve established throughout Canada. Our ownership is structured as follows:
Kitikmeot Corporation (51%)
Kitikmeot Corporation is the business development arm of the Kitikmeot Inuit Association. The Association is responsible for developing business opportunities that will build an economic base in the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut. Kitikmeot Corporation is 100% Inuit-owned by the Kitikmeot Inuit Association and works on behalf of the Inuit of the Kitikmeot Region.
North American Construction Group (49%)
North American Construction Group (NACG) has over 65 years of experience in construction and mining and provides a comprehensive and integrated approach to meet their customer’s requirements from consultation to completion. NACG’s focus on people and relationships and their uncompromising commitment to health and safety are aligned with Nuna’s values and ensure the level of excellence Nuna’s customers expect. In addition, access to a large and significant mobile equipment fleet, experienced site personnel and NACG’s growing external maintenance services create multiple synergies.
